Future Foldable Smartphones from Vivo: X Fold 2 and X Flip
The popularity of foldable smartphones is growing, with more and more companies releasing their own models. This week, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo will release its new foldable smartphone models, the Vivo X Fold 2 and Vivo X Flip.
Ishan Agarwal, a well-known informant, recently leaked some of the important specifications of both models. Let’s take a deeper look at the benefits of these gadgets.
Vivo X Fold 2
The X Fold 2’s primary display is 8.03 inches tall and folds like a notebook, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold models. This display will have a 4:3.5 aspect ratio, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and a resolution of 360ppi. A secondary display of 6.53 inches with a 21:9 aspect ratio, 2,5201,080px resolution, 120hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and 420ppi will also be included.
Under the hood, the device will be propelled by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC coupled with approximately 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The X Fold 2 will be powered by a 4,800mAh battery that supports 120W wired and 50W wireless rapid charging.
For photography, the smartphone will use a triple camera setup. It has a 50-megapixel main sensor with an f/1.75 aperture, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens with an f/2.0 aperture and a 108-degree field of view, and a 12-megapixel portrait camera with a 47 mm focal length. A 16-megapixel selfie camera will also be included. The gadget will come in a variety of colors, such as blue, black, and red. Additionally, a biometric scanner is believed to be located beneath the display.
Vivo X Flip
In contrast, the X Flip features a folding design similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip variants. Its primary display is a tall 6.74-inch AMOLED panel with HDR10+ support, 2,520 x 1080px resolution, 406ppi, and 120Hz refresh rate. Also featured is a 3-inch cover display.
The device is outfitted with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and either 256GB or 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. A 4,400mAh battery cell that supports 44W rapid charging will power the device.
The 32-megapixel primary camera on the X Flip will have an f/1.7 aperture, and it will also include a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture and a 108-degree field of view. A 32-megapixel front-facing camera will be included. The smartphone will debut in a variety of hues, including gold, black, and purple. For security, a biometric scanner is likely to be installed beneath the display. It will run on Android 13 OS natively.
Two highly anticipated foldable smartphone models with outstanding features and specs are the Vivo X Fold 2 and X Flip.
